Jaishree Srinivasan makes wonderfully colourful and decorative ceramic works. They can be viewed and enjoyed on many levels, whether you understand the cultural significance of the symbols used or not. Her pieces have the energy and liveliness of Indian folk art, but function as contemporary art pieces - sometimes as installations as in the 2005 work shown below ...
